Terms of service
These terms apply when a venue creates an account or uses HostMyQuiz. Please read them before starting a paid subscription.
The service
HostMyQuiz provides browser-based venue hosting, audience displays, team answering, scoring, leaderboards, and quiz content. The service is designed primarily for business venues, including pubs, care homes, and entertainment venues.
Subscription and payment
The venue subscription is £45 per month unless a different price or trial has been agreed with you in writing. Direct Debit through GoCardless is the recommended payment method. Standing order is also available, with card payment retained as a fallback where needed.
Paid venue access begins when payment is confirmed. If a payment fails, is cancelled, or becomes overdue, live-quiz access may be suspended while billing and support access remain available. A manual payment may take longer to match to the correct venue.
Your account and venue use
- Provide accurate venue and contact information.
- Keep account credentials secure and tell us promptly about suspected misuse.
- Use HostMyQuiz lawfully and do not interfere with the service or other users.
- Moderate team names and venue activity for which you are responsible.
- Use a suitable internet connection and devices for the live event.
Content and availability
HostMyQuiz and its supplied quiz content, branding, software, and designs remain protected by intellectual-property rights. Your subscription gives your venue permission to use the service and supplied content for its own quiz events; it does not transfer ownership or permit resale or redistribution.
Live events depend on internet connections, devices, and third-party infrastructure. We work to keep HostMyQuiz reliable and recoverable, but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may make reasonable service changes for security, reliability, legal compliance, or product improvement.
Cancellation and responsibility
You can cancel using the process in our cancellation policy. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot legally be excluded, or removes rights that the law says you must retain.
